Dear Joe, Pamela, Mel and Karen,
I’m so saddened to hear about Papa Joe’s passing. From time to time his name would come up in conversation in reference to his audio-technical brilliance and general status of legend, and I would be reminded of his beautiful, kind smiling face that was always so welcoming to me. I send you my deepest condolences and best wishes, With love from Rachael

I am so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you all xx
Joe Talia was a great friend of the Pans on Fire steelband. He recorded and edited the tracks for our first two CDs (Recovery and Stand by Me), and played guitar on the Recovery CD and at the launch of the CD in Marysville in December 2012. We were in awe of his technical and musical abilities, and blessed by his generosity of spirit and his unending patience with an amateur bunch of "musicians". This video is our everlasting tribute to the Amazing Joe Talia. https://youtu.be/AOIVxRHEkCI
I was saddened to hear (Via Mike and Steffie George) of the passing of Joe. Please express my condolences to all the family - Peter.
To the whole family, Pam, Karen, Melanie and Joe, our deepest sympathies. Was of course in touch with younger Joe throughout and terribly sad to hear on the weekend of "Papa" Joe's final journey. As I said to Joe, there are so many memories and processes and things that will always remind me of him... His help and interest in the albums we made in his studio, tracks featuring specific guitars of his, all the gear he fixed for us! (I really do think of him every time I plug in the guitar whose electronics he managed to resurrect, against all odds). And also just the countless easy evenings chatting around the dinner table. He was much loved in our circle and always fondly spoken of. A lovely man with a generous spirit, go well.
Remembering Joe as a very gentle soul.
A long friendship over many years.
Our hearts go out to you Pam, Karen, Melanie & Joseph & Families.
Thinking of you all …

To Pamela and family, my deepest condolences to you on Joe's passing. The industry he went on to serve so well, and the friends he made in it will miss him dearly. One of the true legends and pioneers of broadcast technology who was never short of an idea or a solution. Always prepared to lend an ear and give it his best shot. A truly wonderful human being. RIP Joe.

I am so sad to hear of Joe’s passing. I didn’t know him at all but used to see him around town (Grant Street Grocer) and thought he seemed such a very nice man. In this world there are people who give and people who take and I think he was a giver….I think he added to the plus side of life.
Dear Melanie
