Helen and my wife Krystyna were childhood friends in Mansfield in the 1950's and had many happy adventures together. Coming from Canada, I first met John in 1972 at our wedding in Melbourne, and I have to say that he and Helen stole the show with their deft dancing moves. John was particularly taken with the Canadian calendars that we would send down each Christmas...he loved the Canadian snow scenes featured in Dec-Jan-Feb and often said that on a hot summer day in Mansfield, he would come into the house, gaze at our calendar, and immediately feel a cool relief. John was a genuine character, he loved his family , and will be truly missed. Our sincere condolences to Helen , Susan, Peter, Darren and family.
